Cherry Pie

Traverse City has the only airport in America named after a fruit, and it’s that kind of dedication to the cause that gets a Michigan Sweet Cherry Pie the nod over the beloved Detroit Coney dog. Traverse proclaims itself the “Cherry Capital of the World,” a title reflected in the large crowds that visit Northern Michigan every year. The cherry pie is just as flavorful the rest of the year, as nearly every restaurant in the city has some version of it on its menu.
