New England Clam Chowder

Many rivalries exist between New York and Boston, including, of course, Manhattan vs. New England clam chowder. The milkier, Massachusetts variety comes to us via the pilgrims, who added the local quahog clam to their dairy-based soups. The stuff is especially satisfying on a bone-chilling Boston winter day, when you tuck into a tiny tavern and warm yourself with a bowl.
